*Banner & Branches (daily 12noon-3pm)

Inspired by the iconic Miners' banners on display at Woodhorn, help to create a giant deconstructed banner inspired by nature. Hexham Old Gaol

Located in the heart of Hexham and easy to get to by public transport, Hexham Old Gaol is Britain's Oldest Gaol (jail). You can delve into what life was like for prisoners in the 1300s, try some of the interactive exhibitions and learn all about the local troublemakers (you can check to see if your family name is on the list).

Berwick Museum & Art Gallery

Berwick Museum is a real gem, whenever I share a photo of the giant snake tunnel on Social Media I am asked where to find it - the answer is, upstairs in the Medieval Gallery at Berwick Museum.

As well as the Medieval gallery (which is my personal favourite), you will find an original Lowry painting, the Berwick Burrell Collection, the Ord Cross Exhibition and lots of info on the history of Berwick.

Pet dogs are welcome in all areas of the museum and gallery.

Additional drop-in activities included with your annual pass:

*Runic Codebreakers (daily 1pm-3pm)

Work out how to spell your name in runes! Visit the Ord Cross gallery to find out about the Runic Alphabet before scratching your own name or initials onto card. Why not add a border too?
