Scream for Pizza £10 Deal

This post has been published by Steve.

We recently went to the theatre to see Unfortunate: The Untold Story of Ursula the Sea Witch (great show BTW) and for pre-show dinner we decided to go to Scream For Pizza on Starbeck Avenue in Sandyford.

Scream for Pizza was started in 2014 by Founders Victoria and Alex as a Street Food Pizza van before moving to their current permenant residance in Sandyford. You can read more about their history here.

Scream for Pizza £10 Deal

It is ideal for a meal before shows at Newcastle City Hall or Northern Stage, it's really easy to get to by car and there is on street parking but there are differing restrictions depending on where you park so check when you get a space.

Owl Tree Children's Cafe Newcastle

This post has been written by Jennifer Storey.

One of my favourite places to visit in Newcastle with my young children has got to be the Owl Tree Cafe in Red House Farm. The cafe is a community interest project, set up to help combat the issue of social isolation which many parents face.

Berwick Swimming Pool & Leisure Centre

Thanks to our writer Bethanie for this post.

Since its opening in early February 2022, we have been keen to visit the new leisure centre in Berwick and see what it was all about. Part of the Active Northumberland group, the new centre has replaced what was the old swimming pool and has a brand new look, complete with mod cons, splash pool, sports hall, café and soft play.

Marsden Grotto Review & Menu

In 1782, 'Jack the Blaster' and his wife Jackie used dynamite to blast into the side of the cliff at Marsden Bay and created themselves a rent free home right on the beach. Can you imagine someone just randomly doing that now?

After a while, Jack became involved in smuggling and smugglers used the cave to hide their contraband cargo from abroad.

After changing hands several times,  the Grotto is a now a popular seafood restaurant and beach bar with rooms. We visited as a group of 8 for my mam's birthday in August 2022.

We booked a table in advance and I'm pleased we did as shortly after we arrived at 7pm, the restaurant soon filled up with families enjoying a meal together. It's best to call to book a table as they have limited / zero internet service in the cave. I didn't receive a response when I emailed.  Their number is 0191 455 6060.

Thanks to our writer Bethanie for this post.

Autumn is approaching and I know a lot of people feel sad to be waving goodbye to summer. But there are so many things to look forward to over the coming months and one of my favourite things about autumn is conker picking. In this post I share some of the best places to look for conkers across the North East.

At the bottom of this post I will also share a few ideas on what to do with your conkers once you have bagged them up and taken them home.

6 Ways to cycle around Falkirk with kids

Are you keen to try cycling as a family but perhaps aren't sure where to start? If this sounds like you, I would definitely recommend considering the Falkirk area as a short break destination where you can incorperate a little (or lots) of cycling with kids into your break with little or no prior experience.
