Hello July! 

I have decided to split my Summer Holiday What's On Guide across July and August this year as quite frankly, they are just becoming too big to cover the full six weeks. Look out for August's guide towards the end of July.

Whitehouse Farm is a brilliant FULL day out for all weathers to enjoy with the family this summer. There's lots of fun to be had at Beamish Museum this month and of course, it's all included with a Beamish Unlimited pass. Highlights include Crank It Up STEM/ Science Weekend on 5 & 6 July, British Sports Cars in the North on 6 July and Meccano Weekend on 12 & 13 July. 

And then as we move into the summer holidays, there are 6 weeks of railway-themed fun to enjoy with the importance of railways from different time periods being showcased each week with a variety of activities. In July we kick off with the early development of the railways and their role in emigration.

Summer is a fantastic time to make use of your National Trust membership with a whole host of family walks, playgrounds and activities included. 

A Summer of Play returns this year with ball games, family challenges, space hopper and hobby horse races, chill areas and more - activities are drop in too so ideal for those days when you just need to get out of the house for some fresh air. 

Rainy days are covered too - why not use your membership to explore Lindisfarne Castle (check tide times) or take the Critter Trail around Cragside House?

If you fancy a little day trip this summer, why not use your National Trust membership to visit somewhere new in Yorkshire? 

Nunnington Hall near York is hosting a Dinosaur themed summer with lots of Dinosaur themed activities to try, Fountains Abbey near Ripon will be popping up a big circus tent filled with fun activities to try and Brimham Rocks has planned FREE taster abseiling and rock climbing days which will be fab for those looking for a real adventure.

A full summer of fun is planned at Life Science Centre with a BRAND NEW full domeshow Life: The Greatest Story, a chance to make your own Spinning Creation in the Making Studios and lots of interactive fun in the centre's brand new Lightbox.
