Afternoon Tea Delivered in and around Newcastle

This post features afternoon teas delivered which have been tried and tested by myself. I have worked with some of the businesses in the past but this specific post has not been paid for.

Mrs Dellow's Delights 

  • About: Mrs Dellow's Delights was one of the first businesses to offer afternoon tea delivered. We first tried them back in 2017 and back then, they would provide all of the crockery and set up a lovely afternoon for you in your own home. 

    At the moment, they are focussing on sweet treats and afternoon tea boxes delivered. They are such lovely people and everything is homemade and plentiful - their cakes will remind you of the type your granny used to make.

Running Fox Bakery 

  • About: The Running Fox is renowned for serving one of the best afternoon teas in the North East and I am delighted that they now offer delivery. Expect exceptionally high quality baked goods and large portions. 

    Adults can choose a sandwich (I recommend the chicken and chilli jam), slice of quiche or pie, slice of cake and scone. Children can pick a sandwich, bag of crisps and slice of cake. 

    I love that this afternoon tea is delivered in a large branded box - it really feels special and is such a treat.

Beckleberrys 

  • About: Beckleberrys offer seasonal afternoon treat boxes from their patisserie. They are delivered frozen and need to be defrosted before consumption. We ordered their VE day special and thought it was such a bargain. There are lots of variations and options in their website. 

  • Price: Various prices around £15 for two. 
  • Delivery Areas: Free delivery within 10 miles of Blaydon - see here for info
  • Collection: Available from their store in Blaydon within the hour and includes a 10% discount (order ahead online).

Olivia's Kitchen 

  • About: We ordered a festive afternoon tea from Olivia's Kitchen and found it to be excellent value for money. Everything was beautifully presented and homemade with lots of attention to detail. The scones were perfect! Olivia's Kitchen offers both fantastic value and quality and I love that you can easily order online for next day delivery. I would highly recommend. 

  • Price: From £5.95 per child and £7.95 per adult (+ VAT) 
  • Delivery Areas: Next day delivery available if ordered before 3pm. They cover a large area of the NE from South of Durham through to Morpeth. There is a postcode checker on their home page.

Curiously Wicked 

  • About: Curiously Wicked is a luxury afternoon tea provider. They are known for their exquisite cakes and chocolate work and often sell out a few months in advance. They regularly offer themed afternoon teas. We tried their "Tea Who Shall Not Be Named" which had serious Harry Potter vibes and was a lovely treat. 

  • Price: From £14.50 per child and £22.50 per adult

You, Me and Afternoon Tea 

A Children's Party Box - perfect for a homeschool treat / birthday celebration 

  • About: You, Me and Afternoon Tea offer an excellent value Afternoon Tea for Two, seasonal specials (eg Valentines/Easter), cupcake deliveries, celebration cakes and party boxes for children. Everything is home-baked and delivery is FREE within a 5 mile radius of Wideopen and Longhoughton. 

  • Price: Afternoon Tea for 2 is £23, Children's Party Boxes are £7.95-£10, a box of 6 cupcakes is £10 and celebration cakes are from £30.  
  • Delivery Areas: FREE delivery within a 5 mile radius of Wideopen/Longhoughton, £3 delivery within 5-10 miles and £5 delivery for 10+ miles (within a reasonable distance). 
  • Collection: Not available

Dreamworld Cakes 

  • About: Now I haven't tried a full afternoon tea from Dreamworld Cakes (it is on my list) but I have tried their cakes and I have to say, they are utterly divine and really do remind you of the type you would buy from a French Patisserie. 

    Afternoon Tea is a bit of a bargain at £15 per person when you consider the quality. 

  • Price: £15 per person

  • Collection: Available from their Ouseburn store on Saturdays 12noon-2pm (order ahead online)
