Pranzo is an Italian Trattoria and Deli on Station Road in Whitley Bay. It's next door to Sushi Me Rollin' and on the same street as Whitley Bay Metro Station so super easy to get to by public transport. There is street parking outside (sometimes paid - check times) and there is a free car park outside Whitley Bay Metro Station.

We didn't book and popped along for their lunch deal which is currently available Tues-Fri 12noon-2:30pm (check this before visiting though as deals like this can change).

There is indoor and outdoor seating and dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas - staff are lush and will bring over a bowl of water. We visited between 12:30pm and 1:30pm and the courtyard was lovely and shaded - I'd recommend as somewhere cool off in the sun.

I think the terrace gets the sun later in the day.

The lunch deal is such a bargain at £25 for four dishes and two drinks. You can pick a maximum of two pizzas/pastas as part of this deal and beer/wine is included or you can pick any soft drink from the menu.

The menu changes regularly with different pastas etc.....

We had to go with two ice cold Morettis on the terrace. Lush! The terrace is lovely with twinkly lights, candles and throws on all of the chairs.

There were two of us dining and we ordered:

*Foccacia Bread with Garlic and Extra Virgin Olive Oil
*Margherita Pizza
*Caprese Salad
*Pasta of the Day (which was Tuscan sausages and Courgettes with a Courgette/Cream Sauce)

All of the portions were large, everything tasted delicious and the service was super attentive too. I honestly couldn't believe our total bill was just £25.

Steve's pasta was a real highlight and it was nice to try something a little different to what you'd normally have on Italian menus. I like the pastas change regularly too and that the menu is kept fresh.

My pizza was made with lots of what delicious tomato sauce (which is my preferred way).

The caprese salad was dressed with good quality olive oil and the foccacia was heavy on the garlic - both perfect. We honestly could have been sitting in the med. Happy days.

I noticed a fantastic Italian dessert counter too with fresh cannolis which looked stunning. However we were stuffed after our lunch and just didn't have the room. We'll definitely be back in the evening to give them a try though, their main menu looks lovely too.

Oh and as a side note, there is a small deli inside the restaurant and you can pick up some Italian treats to take home. Perfect!
