Room for 5 - places to stay for a family of 5 in Blackpool

As I have discussed in previous posts, it is often a struggle finding places to stay when you are a family of 5. Most rooms only cater for a maximum of 4 people. Blackpool however seems to be the exception to the rule and there are lots of places to stay if you are a larger family or group. Here are our top four picks:-

Family Room at Hilton Blackpool

We stayed in the Hilton Blackpool which I am guessing is the biggest hotel in the town (we were in room 757). Family rooms sleep 6 with a double bed, sofa bed and bunks. The location was perfect for us - on the quieter end of the promenade it was about a 20-30 seafront minute walk to the tower or 5 minutes in a tram. The best bits for us were the gorgeous sea view from our room, the super friendly staff and AMAZING breakfasts. The bathrooms were a little on the small side/outdated but this wouldn't put us off visiting again.

Barton Hotel

The Barton Hotel in Blackpool is a traditional b&b renowned for it's cleanliness, relaxed atmosphere and home cooking. There is the added bonus of free parking and a pool table in the hotel bar. They have achieved 4.5/5 stars and tripadvisor and lots of glowing reviews with regular customers returning year after year. There is one five bedded family room in the hotel.

Deluxe Family Room at Big Blue

The Big Blue Hotel is perfectly located within Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Deluxe family rooms feature deep baths, power showers, DVD players and bunk beds with Playstation 3's built in. Super cool! Family rooms sleep up to 2 adults and 3 children.

Lodges with Hot tubs at Sunset Park

If you don't fancy staying in the heart of the action, a lodge or caravan at Sunset Park could be for you. Just a few miles from Blackpool, their luxury lodges sleep up to 6 and come with everything you need for a relaxing stay - some even have hot tubs with lovely lakeside views.

Have you ever stayed in Blackpool? I'd love to hear where you stayed.

  1. I have found it so hard to find hotels too since becoming a family of five. My eldest wants to visit Blackpool for a weekend next year for her birthday and this post has gave us some good ideas of places to stay xx
