FREE Summer Reading Challenge 2023

Thanks to our writer Alyssa for this guest post.

Summer Reading Challenge 2023

Another day- another challenge!

This one will not have you walking 5-10 miles like my usual challenges - instead, I'm encouraging you to put your feet up and relax - there are so many ways to take part and it’s completely free! *insert happy dance here*

Check out Alyssa's previous challenges here:

Visit 12 Lighthouses in One Day Challenge

Cross the River Tyne via 7 Bridges in One Day Challenge

This challenge is fantastic for encouraging children (ages 4-11) to continue reading throughout the summer, avoiding that pesky summer slide (the decline in reading/ other academic skills over the course of the summer).

This post shares an idea for a fantastic low-cost family day out in the beautiful location of the North York Moors National Park.

When many of us think of the National Park, we may think of woodland and forests but there is so much more to explore including 700 Scheduled Monuments, 26 miles of coastline and lots of local businesses including cafes, restaurants, galleries and visitor centres.

We decided to book an all inclusive hotel in Turkey for our annual summer holiday this year. We last visited (Antalya) in 2009 and the kids were keen to return. I do feel like you get better value for money when visiting Turkey when compared to Spain etc..... too but as a family of 5 choosing to travel during school holidays, it's still not cheap.
