A stay in a treehouse has to be on most people's bucket list and over the past few years, a few options have popped up across North East England. I have popped the options I have found into this post if you are looking for inspiration for your next North East break with a twist. Wild Northumbrian is a small glamping site near Kielder. Their bespoke 'Houlet' Treehouse sleeps up to six and offers a private stargazing platform, ground level fire pit, seating area and hammock and is available for the bargain price of just £150 per night. The lovely folk at Hesleyside Huts have added this wonderful treehouse to their site near Bellingham/Kielder. This treehouse sleeps 4 with two bedrooms and a magical outdoor bathroom. Bookings will open and more information will be released February 2021. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for details.

Woodland Chase near Morpeth offers a luxury treehouse with a wood-fired hot tub. Expect lots of luxury touches including Bose surround sound, under-floor heating, White Company toiletries and a luxury hamper on arrival including everything from Prosecco to the ingredients to make S'mores.
The Treehouse sleeps up to two and is available from £200 per night.
