Air Hogs RC Batmobile | A Review

We are HUGE superhero fans in our house and we all have our favourites (Go WonderWoman!!). Harry (aged 10) has always had a soft spot for Batman and it's fair to say that Batman is his favourite. So when Air Hogs asked if Harry would like to review the Air Hogs 1:24 Scale Batmobile Toy (affiliate), I immediately said yes.

Oh I have to say, it looks impressive doesn't it! Harry is at that awkward age where he doesn't really play with too many toys anymore and prefers to spend time watching YouTube videos or playing Minecraft. As a parent, I am not ready for him to give up toys just yet and I thought if anything was going to encourage him to play, it would be this.

The Airhogs RC Scale Batmobile is an official and exact replica from the film Batman V Superman : Dawn of Justice and I think the detailing is impressive. Harry (and his siblings) spent a fun Saturday afternoon putting the Batmobile through it's paces and I have to say, they all loved it.

We have a few other Batman toys already so the whole family teamed up to build a giant Gotham city with the Batmobile whizzing through the streets. The Batmobile's steering is a 'responsive linkage' system and it's very easy to control. By the end of the afternoon we were whizzing around our lounge at real speed.

This toy is aimed at ages 8+ but Heidi (7) and Jack (5) have both been playing with this too and because the controls are so easy to use, they could easily play too.

The Batmobile takes 6 AA batteries which aren't included - our cheap batteries from Poundland lasted a full day (and a few other plays since) and are still going strong. There is a boost button for super speed and LED lights on both the Batmobile and the control too.

I asked Harry, Heidi and Jack for their verdict and they all absolutely adored the Batmobile. If you have wood floors as we do, I am confident you'll have lots of fun. The Batmobile is easy to handle and super speedy. Steve even enjoyed having a whirl. It isn't so good on carpets and A LOT slower (and sometimes not moving at all) so if your house is mostly carpeted, this maybe isn't the toy for you.

My husband Steve on the other hand was a little more sceptical and said that they can only charge what they do for this toy because of it's branding and affiliation with Batman - I guess that's the whole reason you would buy it though.
