I Would LOVE to be an Organised Mum

On paper, I have loads of time. I should be organised. I should be on top of things, but I'm not. I work from home and can more or less plan my own hours. If I need to, I can work in the evening and use my days to get stuff done. It all sounds easy so why do I find it such a struggle?

This week for example, I've had to request two new school trip consent forms from school after 'losing' them. I have had to re-arrange a meeting with Harry's teacher due to a diary clash, I've missed a birthday party invite and I've been cornered by Jack's teacher for not signing his reading record book. Oooops!

In my work life, I am SO organised. I use lists to get stuff done and everything is planned within an inch of it's life. I seriously couldn't be more organised. I have a system and it works. This just makes me more frustrated with my home life though - if I can do it with my work life, I know that I can do it at home, it just needs a bit of work.

I've tried all sorts to try and keep on top of things - I have a 'school' blackboard where newsletters get pinned, I have a diary and I check reading folders regularly but I've decided that in January, I'm going to treat ourselves to a XL family calendar to stick on our fridge and everything school related is being written on there. That way, we will see it every morning and night, it's visual, it includes a full month so we can plan ahead and Steve can share some of the responsibility too.

I Would LOVE to be an Organised Mum

The lovely people at Snapfish feel my pain and have provided me with 3 XL Square Wall Calendars to giveaway to three lucky readers. The calendars can be fully personalised and worth £22.99 - they'll also make a wonderful Christmas gift for any other stressed out parents like me! Enter using the rafflecopter below:-

  1. Get a filing cabinet! Just a mini one, and sort everything into folders. Takes a while but once it's done you will never lose another piece of paperwork again.
