9 Things to do at RSPB Saltholme

This nature reserve in Teesside is such an underrated day out. Entry is free for your first child (then £3.50) and £7 per adult or free if you're a RSPB member.
It's a good option for those who don't like dogs as pet dogs are not permitted here.
There are various walks around the site including flat, accessible options with various bird hides to visit along the route.
The easiest walk is a simple loop around the main lake should take around 20 minutes with no stops (you're going to want to stop at the wildlife hides though).
As you'd expect, it's a haven for wildlife here and on our last visit we spotted a fox, marsh harrier, little egrit, crane & more.
It's fun for kids with a Welly Walk, water play, sculptures. Fun facts, fantastic bird-themed playground & nature trails.
There's a cafe, toilets, visitor centre, binocular hire, info boards and plenty of spotter guides too.
We love it here! And would recommend as a day out for all ages.
