BYOB (or Bring Your Own Bottle/Beer/Booze) restaurants are ideal for when you'd like a night out but don't want to spend a fortune OR you are celebrating a special occasion and want to bring your favourite Champagne without the restaurant mark-up OR maybe you can only drink specific alcoholic beverages (eg GF) or can never find your favourite drink when dining out so want to bring your own.
The set up is usually available when a restaurant does not have a license to sell alcohol (although there are some exclusions is). You basically book a table, order some food as normal but walk in with a carrier bag of alchohol from home to enjoy with your meal.
Restaurants will usually provide glasses etc.... and occasionally there is a small corkage fee. You usually cannot bring your own non-alcoholic drinks and these will have to be purchased in the usual way.

Sajis
Sajis Restaurant is an Indian Restaurant in Gateshead offering authentic Halal food from the Punjabi and Kashmari regions. They also have function rooms available for special occasions.
Ma'ida Wallbottle
Ma'ida Walbottle is a stylish Indian Restaurant with the added bonus of an outdoor terrace. They are super BYOB friendly and can provide mixers, glasses, ice, wine coolers, ice buckets, bottle openers, corkscrews and more. Their restaurant name literally translates as a table spread of food and if you can't find our favourite dish on the menu, they will happily prepare it for you.
21 Newcastle
21 is a renowned fine dining restaurant on Newcastle Quayside. They run regular BYOB nights (the next one is 6 July). This would be perfect if you're saving a special bottle of wine for an extra special meal.
Alishaan Fulwell
Alishaan is an Indian Restaurant with good-value prices within walking distance of the sea.
Petros Winlaton Mill
Petros serves up authentic Italian and Greek food at their restaurant in Winlaton Mill. They run special Greek nights with live music, dancers and entertainment too. Prices are super reasonable too with a kids meal priced at £4.50 and a £9.95 happy hour.
They state on their website that it is bring your own wine only (so no beer etc...). They do have their own bar too.
Pizza Grande Washington
Pizza Grande serves up authentic wood-fired pizzas - all handmade in the heart of Washington Village.
Achellos Fenham
Achellos serves up Italian Pizzas, Steaks, Pasta and Burgers as well as Sunday Lunches. They offer good value with a 3 course lunch deal available for just £9.95.
Just Italy Cafe North Shields
Just Italy is a Restaurant/Cafe serving quality REAL Italian food. My mouth is watering as I scroll their Facebook Page. Everything looks lush. They offer GF pasta and GF pizza bases too.
Nafiza's Low Fell
Nafizas is an Indian Restaurant in Low Fell. I couldn't find much info online but it was recommended to us as a BYOB restaurant.
Koru Peaceful Pizza Gosforth
Koru are an Artisan Pizzeria and Cafe on Salters Road in Gosforth. It looks beautiful inside! Their moto is #PeacefulPizza and their menu looks divine.
Elan Pizzeria Seahouses
Elan Pizzeria is a lovely little restaurant in Seahouses serving pizzas, pastas, salads and desserts in their open-view kitchen. We visited a few years ago and had a lovely night.
Spice Garden Winlaton
Moti Jheel is an Indian Restaurant in Cramlington who use fresh ingredients to make all of their flavoursome sauces from scratch. I live in Cramlington so have been here a few times and have always found it to be great value.
The Bake One Gosforth
The Bake One is a Lebanese restaurant offering parmos, mixed grills, mezze, kebabs, shawarma and more.
The Bake Byker Original
The Bake Byker is located on Byker Bank. They specialise in Lebanese cuisine with shawarmas, kebabs, wraps and more.
Cape to Cairo Shildon
Cape to Cairo offer full flavour dishes inspired by African cuisine. They run lots of special events and deals including live music and BBQ nights.
Amins Spice Durham
Amins is a renowned family business serving up Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine. They run special deals on Thursday and Sunday evenings too.
Jaipur Restaurant Newcastle
Jaipur has won lots of awards and award nominations over the year including 'Chef of the Year'. Located in Denton Burn, it looks like a lovely place.
Nori Ramen Jesmond
Nori is a Ramen house in the heart of Jesmond. Expect Ramens, Katsu Curry, Teriyaki Chicken, Veggie Tempura and more.
Kamal Newcastle
Kamal is a Balti House in Fenham with 5* reviews. Expect a range of Indian Cuisine and Chefs Specials at excellent prices.
