Our day trip to Whitby

Whitby in North Yorkshire is only a 90 minute drive from the North East and definitely worth a trip. We visited over the Summer (as we do every Summer) and fell in love with their independent shops, wine bars, traditional pubs fishmongers, artisan crafts, cobbled streets, restaurants and quaint cafes.

The famous Magpie Cafe

We only queued for around 10 minutes for a table at the Magpie Cafe

Whitby Abbey - the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula

We climbed the 199 steps!

Whitby really is such a wonderful place - I've only ever visited on a hot day in the Summer so would love to pop back again this Autumn/Winter.

  4. We went there over the bank holiday weekend, it was heaving but I still love it there. We seem to have done almost exactly what you did too!
