11 Reasons to Visit Little Lindi Festival 2022

Number 1. The Ministry of Sound Disco live performance

This will take place on The Main Stage in The Hive on Saturday night. The Ministry of Sound bring a brand-new show, celebrating the very best in disco & house and performed by a 15-piece Sound Soul & Funk Band!

Dance your heart out too much-loved classics like “I Feel Love”, “One More Time” and “Don’t Stop ‘til You Get Enough”.  Kids might even be allowed to stay up late for this one – maybe you have a cart, or cosy kid carrier you can keep them warm in.

Number 2. The Activities.

Our jam-packed programme of workshop & interactive activities lets you and your kids delve into dance, wellbeing, arts, outdoor sports, games, and bushcraft.  Honestly, you should try as many as you can, but here’s a few to give you an idea.

Have you ever hung upside down in an aerial hammock? Why not try it. Circus Central are running workshops on both Saturday and Sunday including juggling, Acro balance, aerial and circus workshops, with afternoon shows from their Circus BTEC students.

On Saturday Geo Journey, winner of the Academics' Choice Awards in the Brain Toy Category joins us in the Crafts Gazebo to teach kids about our amazing solar system in a fun and interactive way.

You can also get involved in a Family Macrame Workshop, the mindful art of tying decorative knots on Sunday afternoon. This family craft workshop is perfect for children and adults to learn together – Bev will help you craft your very own Funky Macramé Bracelet or family Key Ring.

You can even find your zen under the trees and meditate, with a difference. Join Jacqui in the Shanti Bee Workshop Tents on Saturday for a sound healing Workshop. You’ll be learning meditation with a Qi Gong warm-up, followed by a sound bath with Crystal & Tibetan Singing bowls. Total Relaxation!

So many other workshops throughout the weekend, Dance City and David Lloyds offering dance and exercise sessions for all weekend, while Heaton-based Shanti Bee are offering morning yoga for the adults and Family Gong baths.

Number 3. Go to a Silent Disco.

We’ve three planned across the weekend. From nursery rhymes to Busta rhymes, Kid-Hop to Sleeping Bunnies.

While silent discos can feel a bit comical when you first enter a room of people bouncing up and down in silence - it’s a fun way to dance with friends and choose the songs you prefer to listen too.

Join in the Silent Disco fun on Saturday and Sunday afternoon in the Cinema Tent then for the older kids, Saturday night in the workshop tent.

Number 4. Go wild.

The Little Lindi setting is one of the ‘best kept semi-wilderness’ spots in the region.   With the river running through it delicately and small clusters of trees dotted throughout the site you can step into nature, without having to go far from your tent.

From our bushcraft tents you can explore the ‘wild spots’ we’ve chosen – play in the dens, learn how to craft a fire and if you feel the need to stretch those legs and explore, there are a few walks off site.  These will be in our programme and up on our site a little closer to the festival. www.littlelindi.co.uk

Number 5. Okay at a Karaoke?

On Sunday in our Viking Brewhouse Bar, we’ve an afternoon karaoke – we’d love you to take part. Show your kids the fun of getting up on a stage, reminisce on your favourite song, step out of your comfort zone with your partner or just give the kids a laugh at your expense. It’s all good fun.

Number 6. Reet Good Craic

A North East best kept secret discovered at Lindisfarne and created for a best friend’s wedding - Reet good craic (Fleetwood Mac Cover band) have kept the party going ever since.   A group of musician friends, all with a love of Fleetwood Mac and Good Crack – not to be missed.

Number 7.  Therapeutics.

While you’re getting a massage in the one and only Shanti Healing Area, born from Lindisfarne Festival let the kids get a mini manicure!  Tucked away amidst the Walk of Love the Healing Tents bring everything from Indian head Massage and Reiki to one-to-one Gong Baths and singing. You’ll be on your best holiday!

Number 8. Parade your Wild ’ness

Prepare your best matching fancy dress gear and join the Sunday afternoon parade. You simple can’t miss the parade.

Number 9. Fun Little Foodies.

What’s not to love about learning to cook. Be it a post work Monday cook or a last Sunday afternoon stew there is always satisfaction in the creation of good scran.

Imagine being a kid and making that happen – North East based Fun Little Foodies make those dreams happen every day and are bringing all that joy to our weekend. You can get involved all of Saturday with the drop-in workshops.

Number 10. Flash Mob!

We don’t want to give too much away, however – for those keen for a flash of fun we are hosting the opportunity to be part of the Flash Mob.

Join the workshops on both Saturday and Sunday in the Workshop tent and be a little flexible on the Sunday afternoon to be part of the mob! If you follow our socials, you will get the chance to learn a few of the moves with dance professional and Little Lindi mentor Holly Irving.

Number 11. Camp with friends and family

It’s such a wonderful experience to wake-up camping with friends, to sit under a gazebo eating beans in the morning, share ingredients to fashion cocktails before heading out for a dance while the kids are living their best life with one another.

It’s one of the most memorably moments of the festival, so much it almost steals the thunder from the headliners, possibly!

We hope you’ve a little more clued up and can see we’ve orienteered the Little Lindi experience towards the kids. Little Lindi is more than a family festival - Its completely family focused, in the most wonderful of settings.
