10 Fang-Tastic Halloween Events in North East England for Older Kids aged 8+

Halloween is fast-approaching and it's a time of year which my children love. Harry, Heidi and Jack are actually gutted that we're not going to be in the North East this year (we're taking a North West road trip during October Half Term) and I know they'd be happy with any of these events. Let me know if you 've booked anything yet.

10 Fang-Tastic Halloween Events in North East England for Older Kids aged 8+

Holmside Park Halloween Event (recommend for ages 7+)

Holmside Park is organising an interactive Halloween Walk this year. The event is recommended for ages 7+ but won't be too scary and younger children are welcome too. This sounds like a good option for the whole family if you don't like being scared too much. As well as the walk, there will be wand making, broom making and spell making included with pumpkin carving, face painting and boom flying an optional extra. Find out more and book online here.

Brocksbushes Labyrinth

This Horror/Circus-themed labyrinth is not for the easily scared. Under 13s must be accompanied by an adult and you're advised to run for their lives! Find out more and book online here.

Dracula at Customs House (suitable for ages 12+)

This live show has been given a 12+ rating and there is said to be A LOT of fake blood in the performance so beware. Harry has just turned 12 and he is a huge fan of Dracula fan and if we'd have been at home, I think I would have booked this for Steve and Harry to enjoy. Find out more and book online here.

Scream Factory (twilight tour suitable for ages 3+, extreme tour suitable for ages 14+)

The Scream Factory is the North East's largest, scariest and multi-award winning Halloween attraction. Set in the grounds of an old, haunted nursery, the walk-through experience features all the sounds, odours, backdrops and props you'd expect on a Hollywood set. This is a chance to witness first-hand the stuff of nightmares and is only recommended for the brave! There is a non-scary tour at twilight for younger/sensitive children who don't like being scared too. Find out more and book online here.

Halloween Film at Newcastle Castle

Newcastle Castle is hosting a series of spooky films in the castle keep this Halloween. Movies include Hocus Pocus, Dracula and The Rocky Horror Show. Find out more and book online here.

The Addams Family at Whitley Bay Playhouse

Whitley Bay Operatic Society presents a special production of The Addams Family. This musical comedy is suitable for the whole family. Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult. Find out more and book online here (affiliate link).

Dead of the Night at Alnwick Garden

The Dead of the Night at Alnwick Garden is an after-hours event taking place from 6:30pm. The garden will be transformed into a garden of horrors. Expect zombie infestations and a scare zone bamboo labyrinth which once seen, will never be unseen! Find out more and book online here.

Villains Ball at The Customs House

The Customs House and Katie's Garden have joined forces to bring a fabulous villains ball and the whole family is invited. All Jafars, Cruellas & Malificents are welcome and you'll be able to mix your own Halloween mocktail, take a snap at the magic mirror, play games (for kids AND grown-ups) and enjoy a fabulous Halloween buffet. Find out more and book online here.

Halloween Evenings at Beamish

These special events always sell-out in advance and are a chance to see one of the North East's best attractions with a twist. The town, village, yard and old hall will all be swamped with terrifying creatures - knock on the doors and trick or treat if you dare! Find out more and book online here.

Belsay Hall Haunted Hall & Ghost Stories (recommended for ages 10+)

Join Belsay Hall for a special candlelit ghost tour. There will be ghost stories and a chance to explore the hall after hours. Look out for things that go bump in the night! Find out more and book online here.
