FREE Halloween Trail at Plessey Woods

FREE Halloween Trails at Plessey Woods & Druridge Bay Country Parks

📅 Daily from 3 Oct - 3 Nov. Simply drop in. Note the cafe is closed on Mondays.
Here are a few tips:
👻 It's FREE to park for an hour but you need a ticket still. An hour is just enough time to get around the trail and stop for a play in the park at the end (NE22 6HZ). You can of course stay for longer but parking charges apply (up to £4.50). There is a bus stop along from the entrance.
👻 Last year the trail was 2.7km circular for us (including steps). You can make this trail accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs by following the linear route there and back (I would say this is around 3.5km in total). It may get muddy if it rains.
👻 There's an enclosed playground, cafe, toilet and dog wash at the start / end plus a free bouldering area across from the playground
👻 Pick up a trail map from the cafe during opening hours - (Tues to Fri 10am-3pm and Sat/Sun 10am-3:30pm) Return your trail to the cafe for a sweet treat. The trail is FREE as is the treat - thanks Northumberland Council
👻 During the trail you have to use the map to find 10 Ghosts hidden in the trees and write down the activity they are carrying out on your trail sheet (bring a pen / pencil) Dogs are welcome - Plessey Woods is popular for off-lead walking so keep this in mind if you don't like dogs  Read our full guide to visiting Plessey Woods here: Plessey Woods Guide

FREE Halloween Trail at Druridge Bay Country Park

FREE Halloween Trails at Plessey Woods & Druridge Bay Country Parks

🎃Runs daily from 3 Oct - 3 Nov
Includes:
✅ Playground
✅ Cafe & toilets
✅ Free sweet treat reward
🎃 Collect your FREE trail map from the cafe, find all of the pumpkins around the lake and return to the cafe for your complimentary sweet treat
🎃 The route is around 1.3 miles flat & circular around the lake. There are stepping stones but you can avoid these and follow a pushchair friendly route if needed (can get muddy after rain)
🎃The cafe closes at 4:30pm so make sure you leave enough time to get back to the cafe. There are seasonal treats for sale too.
🎃 Dogs on leads welcome - it's a lovely walk and dogs are allowed in the cafe too. The beautiful dog friendly beach with miles of sand is just on the other side of the car park. Hopefully your dog will be better than Fozzy at navigating Steppy Stones 🙈
🎃 There's also an enclosed playground for kids
📍Use postcode: NE61 5BX
There's free parking for an hour (you still need a ticket), paid parking if you'd like to stay longer. It is possible but not the easiest to reach by public transport (bus to Hadston + walk).
Just a note to watch out for Park Run as the car park will be busier around this time (Saturday at 9am) Read our full guide to visiting Druridge Bay here: Druridge Bay Guide
