Valentine's Day Food Delivery & Gift Guide (North East England Lockdown Edition)

Steve and I are a pretty romantic couple but we don't really celebrate Valentine's Day. We don't buy cards/gifts and sitting in a restaurant with a set menu with lots of loved-up couples just feels forced and isn't usually the best value night out. As we do like our food, we do usually use it as an excuse to cook a nice meal at home. 

This year though, I have decided we will be celebrating. It is an opportunity to support our local businesses and something to look forward to. I have put together a few ideas for those wanting to do the same. Please note, I have not been compensated to write this post. 

Thanks to those on FB and Instagram who have helped so far. Please note that some gifts may sell out so if you see something you like, order sooner rather than later. I have not personally checked/verified every business but they have been recommended to me. I will be updating this post with new info and ideas as they are announced so do pop back.

As a customer can I make a HUGE plea for you to add the areas you deliver to / collection details on your social media in a pinned post/every post/about info/highlight. Sometimes I struggle to find this info and I am sure you must be missing out on sales because of it. 

PLEASE FOLLOW GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES. This is super important and means do not leave your town or village to collect a Valentine's gift or takeaway. Use delivery or stick to your own town. Valentine's Day gifts and food are not what I would class as essential. This post was published in early January 2021 - please be aware that guidance re: delivery,collection and shop openings is continuously changing and the info here may be outdated. 

Finally, please don't moan if I haven't mentioned somewhere which covers your area. I have tried my best and asked for suggestions from readers but it is impossible to cover the whole of the North East. There are always people who do this and it's annoying when I try hard and spend a lot of time putting posts like this together.
