Ad - we have press tickets
The Scottish Ballet's 50th anniversary year comes to a close with the world premiere of The Snow Queen. The ballet will be performed at Newcastle Theatre Royal from 12 - 15 February 2020 and tickets are available from £15.50. Tickets are available here.
Based on the Hans Cristian Anderson tale (which was also the inspiration behind Disney's Frozen), the glittering new production will be set to a live orchestra and the music of Rimsky-Korsakov (performed by the Scottish Ballet Orchestra).
The timing for this performance in Newcastle really could not be better - the ballet is the perfect treat for Valentine's and a lovely way to celebrate the end of half term. I am attending with Heidi and we are going to make a girls night of it, get dressed up and head out for pizzas beforehand.
For those not familiar with the story, the Snow Queen is a tale of love & friendship and really is a perfect winter treat (I am just hoping it doesn't encourage actual snow - I have enjoyed our snow-free winter this year).
Pop back to this post from Thursday 13th February for a full review and for now, enjoy these beautiful production shots. If you are looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat before the show, check out this guide to child-friendly restaurants near the Theatre Royal.
