Newcastle Arena Parking & Public Transport

Newcastle Arena has its own 600 space car park. We usually park here (postcode NE4 7NA). Car parking is £7 during an event and can be paid for by card at a machine or using the app.

Many Buses, the Metro and Trains stop at Newcastle Central Station which is just a 10-minute walk from the arena. Please note, on Saturday 23th and Sunday 24th no Metro Trains will run between South Gosforth and Heworth. There will be a bus replacement service so please allow extra time if travelling this way.

What To Wear

Lots of people like to get dressed up for Marvel Universe LIVE! but don't feel like you have to. There is no need to wrap up like an ice show but a coat is recommended. Don't forget - backpacks are prohibited.

Where To Eat

If you would like to eat out before the show, it is super important you book in advance and leave plenty of time as restaurants close to the arena get very busy. Here are a few of my recommendations for a bite to eat.....

Central Oven & Shaker

If your family are pizza fans, check out Central Oven & Shaker near Central Station beforehand. They also serve a mean cocktail! Find out more and book online here.

COOP Chicken House

There is no Children's Menu at COOP, instead, it is recommended they just share whatever the grown-ups are eating. I love this philosophy!

If you are a family who love chicken, you have to try this place. COOP Chicken House is near Central Station and not far from the arena. Find out more and book online here.

Mantra Thai

We are huge fans of Mantra Thai (check out our review here). They offer a fantastic early-evening special from 5pm-7pm and children's menu.  Mantra Thai is just a short walk from the arena. Find out more and book online here.

As a family, we love going out for Indian food now our children are older and Sachins is one of the best. It is also super convenient for the arena and just a very short walk away. The menu is too big to put on here but you can view over on their website.  Find out more and book online here.

Check out my review of Sachins here.

Newcastle Arena Bag/Sweets/Drinks Policy

  • You will have to walk through a metal detector - use trays for the above items
  •  No large bags allowed (must be smaller than 40cm x 35cm x 19cm
  • No backpacks of any size allowed
  • No food or drink to be brought into the arena - all confiscated food will be donated to The Peoples Kitchen.

Marvel Universe Live Reviews

Mam - Personally I am not the biggest Avengers fan - I will watch it but I am not a superfan like the rest of the Rickeltons.

I found the first half a teeny bit slow but the second half more than made up for this, it was ACTION PACKED and I was on the edge of my seat.

I now definitely have a new-found soft spot for Rocket Racoon - he is such a cutie in real life! The special FX were incredible and I especially enjoyed the fire dancers and the huge light wall that set the backdrop. At some points it felt as if the whole arena was flying through space.

Seeing how much the kids enjoyed it really made my night. There were huge cheers - especially when the Hulk appeared!

The production was a little scarier than I expected - there are guns fired, indoor fireworks and some pretty scary baddies. None of the little children seemed too scared though and I think if they are familiar with the films, they will be fine.

I very much doubt we will ever get to Universal Studios or Disney in the next few years so for me, taking the kids to see a production of this quality in Newcastle is definitely the next best thing. We had a brilliant night.

Dad - Marvel Universe LIVE! is a must see show for any Avengers or Marvel fan. The scene of the night for me was the final battle when everything came together - lots of action and special effects, I didn't know where to look.

Hulk was the best!

Harry (13) -  It was fantastic and I really enjoyed it. My favourite scene was inside the volcano when we felt as if the arena was crumbling around us. I like Rocket Racoon the best as he was just as funny in real life.

Heidi (10) - I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot ( this is all Heidi will say now!).

Jack (8) - I loved Hulk, especially when he smashed. I liked the Temple scene and flying past the dinosaurs. I would recommend to my friends.

We had a brilliant night. If you have tickets, you will love it!
