Did you know that Lush in Newcastle's intu Eldon Square offer children's birthday parties? Until last month I had no idea and after receiving a few messages after sharing photos across Social Media, I decided to post more information. Prices and details are correct as of Feb 2019.

Lush Newcastle | Children's Birthday Party Review

How to book your Lush Birthday Party

There are currently three levels of party available to book at Lush Newcastle. Each party requires a minimum of 5 guests to attend (there is no maximum) and it is best to book well in advance to avoid disappointment. Full payment is required in-store at least 3 weeks before the party date and bookings can be made in-store, by phoning 0191 2304840 or emailing newcastle@lush.co.uk. Parties are available from around age three, through to teens and even grown-ups too and each party can be tailored to your likes/dislikes - simply chat to a member of staff when booking. It doesn't even need to be a birthday, parties can be arranged for any occasion, celebration or just as a treat for those who love Lush. At least one adult must remain for the duration of the party.

You can currently book parties during the following times:
  • Monday - Friday: 9am-6pm
  • Saturday 9am-5pm
  • Sunday 11:30am-3pm

Happy Hour Party - 60 minutes

This party costs £15 per person with £5 per guest redeemable in store to spend on Lush goodies. This party is perfect for those wanting a personalised Lush experience. You can choose a theme for the party (skin care, bath cocktails, hair care....) and expect demos, product making and more.

Fun and Games Party - 90 minutes

This party costs £20 per person with £5 per guest redeemable in store to spend on Lush goodies. This party is designed with fun in mind. Guests will have fun playing with jellies, mixing bath potions and taking the lip scrub challenge. This is the party we experienced and our host could not have been more fun. Both the grown-ups and kids had a blast.

Beauty School Party - 90 minutes

This party costs £25 per person with £10 per guest redeemable in store to spend on Lush goodies. The Lush beauty school can be themed in advance (facial skincare or hand and foot treatments) and is a great way to learn skincare routines and techniques using products used by Lush Spa therapists. Expect the chance to practice on each other, learn new tips and leave knowing how to re-create a Lush spa experience at home.

Product-making add-on

You can add a product-making kit onto your party (price in per guest) which gives guests the chance to recreate some of their favourite Lush products in-store to take home. We made our own bubble bars and it was so much fun and super easy too. Everything you need is provided and creativity is encouraged! Jack made his own volcano bubble bar and Heidi made a turtle.

Lush Newcastle Party Review

We took part in the fun and games party with a bubble bar kit add on. We had our own personal host Luke throughout the 90 minutes who was fab. He was loads of fun for the kids whilst remaining super professional and knowledgable too - he was perfect. We had our own little table set up at near the entrance of the store and really felt like VIPs. The party started with a funny ice breaker which involved balancing a shower jelly which the kids found hilarious, especially when dad got involved.

Then it was straight into some games. The games were fast-paced and lots of fun and included being blindfolded and putting lib scrub on our partners and dashing through the store supermarket-sweep style.

We played a version of Chinese whispers where one person could touch, smell and look at a product and had to describe it to the next person and so on until the last person in line had to guess the product and find it in store. This was fab and we were really impressed that the kids were able to detect so many different scents - they did really well.

We were able to get creative and get hands-on too by making our own bath potion. The kids were able to choose one bath bomb and one bubble bar slice and create their own magical potions. We ended up with 'Unicorn in the Forest' (which by the way, I totally think Lush should make) and Rhubarb and Custard - both were fab and I love how inventive the kids were.

Our favourite part was definitely creating our own bubble bar slice - I'd definitely recommend adding this as an add-on if you can. It was crazy to see how a few ingredients could be transformed into a Lush classic. The kids were supervised the entire time and all encouraged to take part. Some of the staff got involved with X factor style judging too. You can see in the photos how engaged the kids are and how much they are hanging on Luke's every word.

We had an absolute blast at Lush and I'd recommend their parties to everyone. We're already fans of Lush and being able to spend a proper amount of time in store like this playing with various products was fab. If you're looking for a party with a difference, I'd definitely consider. We left Lush with our bubble bars and the bath bomb we picked and could not have been happier.

Let me know anyone who would love a Lush party.

Disclosure: We were invited along to experience a Lush party free of charge as part of a separate Social Media campaign with intu Eldon Square. I received lots of questions about it so decided to write a blog post (with no additional payment) sharing more details. Lush and intu Eldon Square have had no editorial control.
