16 & 17 September | Autumn Steam Gala with the Flying Scotsman at Shildon Railway Museum

Shildon Railway Museum is hosting the world-famous Flying Scotsman this weekend and it's a rare chance to see this magnificent engine up close. Entry to the museum is free and train rides are chargeable. Find out more here

16 & 17 September | Alnwick Food Festival | Market Square 

This free family festival will feature lots of food and drink stalls plus lots of family entertainment ranging from alpacas to face painting, live music, fire eating, Charlie the Clown and more. Find out more here. Find out more here

16 September | Live Music at Seaton Delaval Hall

Tune Army Lukes Band will be entertaining the crowds between 1pm and 3pm at Seaton Delaval Hall today.

16 September | Guided walk - Housesteads to Sycamore Gap

Suitable for ages 10+, join this guided 5 mile walk to 2016's tree of the year. Places should be pre-booked. Find out more here 

17 September | Woollen Woods | Chopwell Woods

Head down to Chopwell Woods between 11am - 4pm and discover woollen fairies and creatures throughout. FREE family event. Find out more here

17 September | Car Boot Sale at Souter Lighthouse 

Souter Lighthouse is hosting it's regular car boot sale from 10am - 3pm today. Entry by donation for buyers or £10 per car for sellers. No need to book, simply turn up. Find out more here
