We have fallen back in love with camping over the last few years and yes it can be a very cheap way to get away but if you're in it for the long haul, it makes sense to invest in decent equipment and things that are going to make your camping trips that little more comfortable. With that in mind, I've put together a list of camping gifts that any family/child who loves camping will be chuffed to pieces with. Let me know what you think :-)

Lighting and Decor

Christmas Gift Ideas for families who love Camping - glow in the dark torch stocking filler

I love this Glow in the dark torch from Amazon - it's less than a fiver including delivery and batteries and has 131 5* reviews. Fab idea for a stocking filler I think.

I am always envious of tents that have their own bunting! It really helps them stand out and adds a lovely personal touch. I cannot recommend local lady Emma Bunting enough. Her designs are beautiful - you could go for letters, names, tents or simply colours and patterns. There's a bunting for every one I am sure.

You can't beat fairy lights when camping - they add a little artificial warmth to your tent and make it feel a lot more homely. I really like these ones from Ikea which are battery powered and only £4.50 for 30 lights. Bargain!

The absolute worst part about camping is being cold and uncomfortable at night. A decent air bed is something most novice campers don't invest in at first - and take it from me, the cheaper ones are simply not worth it. We recommend the Coleman DuraRest Raised Double Airbed which is both durable AND comfortable plus with Wrap'N'Roll technology is super easy to pack away and transport. Take a look at the video above for more info.

We'd recommend pairing the airbed with the Coleman rechargeable Quick Pump (you can buy both items together for £108) which has rave reviews on Amazon and can inflate and deflate in super quick time. It also comes with an in-car charger which is super handy.

Christmas Gift Ideas for families who love Camping - warm double sleeping bag

When it comes to bedding,  it really pays to invest in sleeping bags that are warm and snug. This Double sleeping bag has a double layer of insulation to keep you extra warm AND it's stylish too.

Christmas Gift Ideas for families who love Camping - Soulpad bunk beds for kids

For kids, I simply ADORE these Soul Pad Small bunk beds. They are pricey at £245 but they save space, are stylish, practical, easy to assemble (with no tools) and they can convert into a sofa too - My kids would love these and if I only had 2 kids, I'd definitely be investing.

Finally, these Kids sleeping bags are high quality, warm and snug and only £22.99 - I love them and have already added them to my Amazon basket this year.

Cooking and Dining

We're a family who love our food and you really can't beat cooking on a campfire in the great outdoors - I think it makes food taste 100% better for some reason. I've put together a couple of gift ideas that I'm secretly hoping someone will buy for us - hint hint!

Christmas Gift Ideas for families who love Camping - curled sausage stick

How cool is this Sausage Stick! You simply push your sausage between the curled part and then hold it over a fire or BBQ. They have a super long handle so perfect for supervised children and are currently only £4 each. Bargain!

Christmas Gift Ideas for families who love Camping - crabbing kit

Next up is this fab Family crabbing kit from Down the Cove. Currently on sale at £24, I am going to buy it as a joint present for the kids. We've never actually been crabbing (well apart from looking in rock pools) but we've watched plenty of people give it a go and always say we will next time but never get around to it. This kit contains absolutely everything we need to get started.

Christmas Gift Ideas for families who love Camping - folding and easy to carry fire pit

For our final gift idea in the Cooking & Dining section, I have found this Folding and 'easy to carry' fire pit. This is another product our family would LOVE for Christmas as it ticks all of the boxes you need on a camping trip - I love how versatile it is and you can use it as a firepit OR grill plus that it's lightweight and has foldable legs and it's own carry bag. Perfect. It's currently priced at £36.99 which I think is a bargain.

Christmas Gift Ideas for families who love Camping - hand painted Indian table

First of all, how beautiful is this Hand Painted Indian Table from Boutique Camping. It's easy to transport, stackable and the perfect place to sit on on a floor cushion and play a game/dine. At undr £40, it is also fantastic value for money.

Christmas Gift Ideas for families who love Camping - waterproof floor cushion

That brings me onto this Waterproof Floor Cushion (under £25) which is perfect for sitting on both in and outside of your tent. It comes with a handy carry handle and is available in 10 different colours, They are perfect for kids, teens or adults.

Finally, we have a few travel games and this Travel Chess is one of our favourites. The set is compact and small so takes up hardly any room and I like that it's magnetic so the kids can even play it in the car.
