15 Gift Ideas your dad will love this Christmas

*This post features press samples and affiliate links

Hot on the heels of my Gift Guide for Mums last week, I am back with a few top recommendations for dads this year. I find dads to be some of the trickiest to buy for and it's often difficult to not resort to yet another pair of socks. Let me know if you like my suggestions and what you'll be buying your dad for Christmas this year too.

1 - A Charles Conrad Watch

I am head over heels in love with this Charles Conrad Watch. This watch features a classic design and is presented in a stylish gift box. The straps are interchangeable meaning it will stand the test of time as you can switch the straps to match your outfit/the occasion. This watch has received 5* reviews, is water resistant to 30m and comes with a 2 year guarantee too. Perfect!

2 - Christmas Pyjamas

Is it even Christmas if you don't receive new PJs? I really love these Stag lounge pants from John Lewis and at just £20 they're pretty good value too.

3 - Male Grooming Products

Most of the men in my life seem to be a bit beard obsessed at the moment and it's fair to say that male grooming has definitely come a long way in the last few years. It's a standing joke in our house that Steve spends more time on his hair than I do. He is terrible for using my hairbrush so this year he'll be receiving his very own quiff roller brush so he can style his hair to his heart's content. I'm also rather chuffed that I've managed to get my hands on some Cuban Beard Oil which I hope will be a lovely reminder of our trip to Cuba this year and finally, this travel beard brush really caught my eye. It's award-winning and is perfect for grooming on the go. If your dad is a proud beard owner, check out The Bluebeards Revenge Christmas Gift Guide here for more ideas.

4 - Personal Assistant

Steve has been obsessing about buying a voice-activated personal assistant for a while now. We're torn between the Amazon EchoGoogle Home and the Apple HomePod which is available from December. Let me know if you have any recommendations for the best one for us to buy! I think we'll end up buying one as a joint present to ourselves.

5 - Durham Gin

Gin is set to be one of this year's best sellers and with so much choice out there, it can be difficult to decide on which one to buy. I like to keep it local and highly recommend checking out Gin from Durham Distillery. You can shop online here or buy from a huge range of stockists both in the North East and Nationwide.

6 - A Fire Pit

Steve has lusted after a fire pit for so long and finally managed to get his wish this bonfire night. The Landmann Moon & Stars Fire Basket from Hayes Garden World is a real showstopper. It's extremely well made and looks fantastic in our garden. Plus it was nice and big so suitable for burning the multiple cardboard boxes we had built up over the last few weeks. This fire basket is going to be a focal point for us as we host garden parties and toast marshmallows over years to come and I really can't recommend it enough.

7 - Electric Shaver

An electric shaver is a pretty obvious Christmas Gift that I've bought for the men in my life over the years and they're always going to come in handy. The new Braun Series 3 is available from Argos and features a 5 minute quick charge, pop-up trimmer for moustaches and sideburns, can be used wet or dry and is cordless too. Pretty perfect I'd say!

8 - Winter Boots from Boden

These winter boots from Boden have really caught my eye this year and I know that Steve would love them too. They are a timeless design that can be dressed up or down and are perfect for a Boxing Day walk.

9 - A New Kitchen Gadget

Steve's biggest passion in life is cooking and he always appreciates a new kitchen gadget for Christmas. This year I have my eyes on the SuperFast Thermapen 4 meat thermometer which has a battery life of 3000 hours and is perfect for ensuring your turkey receives a 10/10 this Christmas.

10 - 21 Taste Tour

After trying out the 21 Taste Tour for myself last week,  I can't recommend enough if your dad appreciates good food and drink. The gift voucher allows the bearer to enjoy bar snacks and beer at The Broad Chare, a main course and wine at Caffe Vivo and dessert and coffee at 21 Newcastle in one spectacular night. You can buy online here

11 - A Cookery Book

Another gift that the men in my life will often receive is a new cookbook. This year's bestsellers include 5 ingredients by Jamie OliverAt My Table by Nigella and The Christmas Chronicles by Nigel Slater (I kind of want this one for myself!) If you'd like to keep it local though I can highly recommend the Newcastle Cook Book which features recipes from some of our region's best chefs and restaurants.

12 - The iPhone X

If you can stomach the eye-watering price, the iPhone X is one of this year's hottest products. With 4K video recording and Face ID, this phone is jam-packed with tech and I know it's top of Steve's list this year.

13 - Justice League Mach 3

It's no secret that Steve loves his superhero movies and this Gillette Mach 3 Justice League Gift Set is an affordable gift that will not only provide a close shave but also includes a VR Headset for lots of fun on Christmas Day.

14 - Tickets to a show

We love going to the theatre but it's something we don't get the chance to do as often as we'd like. Tickets to a show you know your dad will love will always go down well. I recommend checking out The Bowie Experience or England Legends Live at Sunderland Empire, John Richardson at Tyne Theatre & Opera House, The Stones at Whitley Bay Playhouse, Hamlet at Northern Stage or Muhammed Ali in South Shields at The Customs House.

15 - Nando's

Steve absolutely loves Nando's and Boots are selling a range of Nando's Gift Sets as part of their fabulous 3 for 2 offer. I love these dipping dishes and sauces and think this set of 7 Nando's sauces will go down a treat.

What a list! Let me know how you'll be treating your dad this Christmas.
