Although I work from home, I am so busy actually working that I'll be the first to admit that I am not the best at keeping on top of our housework and cleaning. It's only on Steve's days off when I don't work as much that we manage to get things done. I am seriously looking into hiring a cleaner again next year and have been looking at services that can help me out.
One such service is The Laundry Co. We've been following each other on Twitter for a while and they got in touch and asked if I'd like to review their service and tell you all about it. The Laundry Co is such a fantastic idea, especially for busy people. The concept is, you book your laundry and/or dry cleaning collection online at a time to suit you, you then book your return date (it's really easy to use - just like ordering your shopping online), then add the services or items you'd like before paying online and completing your order. Your laundry is then collected and returned at the agreed time. Perfect!
My experience with The Laundry Co
I was honestly so impressed. There are loads of jobs I had been putting off but just hadn't got around to doing. Our festive bedding needed washing after sitting in our cupboard for a year, my 'school run' coat was in desperate need of a clean, Steve's suit needed dry cleaning and a few of his shirts had been sitting on his ironing pile for a while. I am one of those people who never iron and I had a dress that I did need ironed too but it had just been hanging in my cupboard neglected for months.

So I booked my collection for Monday morning (a double duvet cover set, 5 shirts, a winter coat, a 2 piece suit and a dress) between 12noon and 2pm and my return date on Wednesday, again between 12noon and 2pm. Payment is made online at this point.
A lovely lady (in branded uniform) turned up as expected on Monday to collect my clothing and returned on Wednesday exactly as expected. I was honestly so impressed. Our clothing was returned on hangers in and protected with a clear bag and they looked pristine. I was super impressed with our bedding - I have never ironed bedding so it's a real treat having someone do this for you. I was also quite shocked at how my Boden coat looked when it had been cleaned. Oooops! I didn't realise it was so dirty! It looks fantastic now though.

The most important factor for me though is that this service is SO hassle free. No carrying suits to the dry cleaners or to and from the car. I am so pleased that these little jobs that have been nagging me at the back of my head have now been ticked from my to-do list. One less thing to worry about!

Who can The Laundry Co help?
Everyone! Definitely busy parents like me, but here are a few other people who may benefit from The Laundry Co's services:
- New parents - why not organise a 7kg wash, dry and fold for a few weeks as an alternative 'new baby' gift
- University student - need a few shirts washed and ironed for upcoming events? The Laundry Co can help
- Office life - take the stress of dry cleaning your suit and/or ironing your shirts away with The Laundry Co
- Holidays - OMG I love this idea. If you can't face the laundry when you return from holiday (I know I can't), why not use The Laundry Co's wash, dry and fold service?
- Elderly relatives - I know my grandparents often struggle with their washing and I'm sure this service would make life a little easier
- Illness - I am sure The Laundry Co's services would be of great use after a stay in hospital when you need to rest or when you're recovering from illness.
Would I recommend?
I would definitely recommend and I will be using this service again. I just loved the convenience of this service and feel that it offers fantastic value for money. Being able to choose delivery and collection at a time that suits me is a huge plus. The staff were all lovely and friendly and the quality of the clean was superb. The service was efficient and I am really happy with the results. When Steve needs his suit dry cleaned, we need our coats cleaned or we return from holiday and I just can't face the washing, I will look no further than The Laundry Co and I'm happy to recommend. The Laundry Co have been supporting North East families with their dry cleaning and laundry needs for over 25 years and a lot of their new clients are through personal recommendations.
