Whats On in the North East for Kids | 15th & 16th October

Welcome to our regular weekend guide featuring 5 events happening in the North East this weekend. I'm escaping to Durham with the girls for the night on Saturday. Woohoo can't wait! Bring on the Prosecco and then on Sunday we have family Sunday lunch booked at The Cherry Tree in Jesmond. I can't wait!

Free Heritage Skills Weekend - Auckland Castle
Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October
10am - 4pm

Auckland Castle are hosting a FREE event suitable for the whole family. There will be food and craft stalls plus a chance to try lots of new crafts and skills plus watch demonstrations. Traditional Carpentry, Stone Carving, Blacksmithing, Leatherwork, Weaving, Stained Glass, Silversmithing and Candle Making are just some of the skills you can expect to see. More details here. 


Halloween at Alnwick Garden
Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October
Various times

Halloween has arrived early at Alnwick Garden. Their spooky trail has now opened. Look out for a hag walking her pet, spiders hugging trees, witches, devils and more! We tried this trail last year and loved it - the theming is superb. There will also be the chance to try your hand at Potion Making and Wand Making and you can scale the Alnwick Garden Trees with Flaming Monkey Tree Climbing. Gibside Pub - Beer and Bite Night
Saturday 15 October
6pm - 9pm

Join Gibside for their monthly Beer and Bite night. There'll be lots of good food on offer including snacks from Gibside's resident butcher and a baker making pizzas. Plus beer, entertainment and music. Children are welcome (there's a little play park) as are dogs on leads. Free entry. More details here.

The Fantastical Disney Season at Tyneside Cinema | Frozen
Saturday 15 October
10:30am

In anticipation for Disney On Ice presents Frozen arriving in Newcastle on Tuesday, a special screening of Frozen has been organised by the Tyneside Cinema. All tickets are just £4 and include a raffle ticket where you could win some fantastic prizes. More details and book here.



Kicking and Screaming | Northern Stage - Bring Your Baby In

Saturday 15 October
2pm


This is a unique performance at Northern Stage suitable for grown ups and their babies under 18 months old. Kicking and Screaming is an honest and touching look at how your life changes when you become a parent. This relaxed performance is baby-friendly with space for pushchairs, comfortable places to feed and a relaxed atmosphere.
