Little Yeos Yoghurt Bark Recipe | Inspired by an Autumnal Walk

Little Yeos Yoghurt Bark Recipe

I love the stunning colours that mother nature shares with us during the autumn months. Reds, golds, oranges and browns, I think autumn has to be the best season for walking to and from school (well at least when it's not raining). Everywhere you look is pure beauty. I love chatting about the changing seasons with the kids and this week we decided spend our walks home from school searching for signs of autumn. I let the kids loose with my camera phone (yikes) and it turned into a fun game that the kids looked forward to every night. Here are a few of their snaps:

Little Yeos Yoghurt Bark Recipe | Inspired by an Autumnal Walk

As you can see there are lots of berries, golden colours and brown twigs and leaves. When we were trying to think of what to prepare for our traditional Saturday night TV picnic this week, we used these photos as inspiration to create our own Healthy Yoghurt Bark Recipe:-

Little Yeos Yoghurt Bark Recipe - ingredients

Ingredients:-

Little Yeos Fromage Frais
3 Strawberries (finely chopped)
2 tsp chocolate sprinkles

This will make enough bark for around 6 people to enjoy as part of a TV picnic/snack. The strawberries remind us of the berries we spotted on our walk home from school and the chocolate sprinkles remind us of the autumn foliage and leaves on the ground around our feet.

Method:-

Simply spoon the fromage frais into a lined brownie tin and then scatter over your finely chopped strawberries and chocolate sprinkles. Pop in the freezer for at least 6 hours (ideally overnight).

Remove from the freezer and break into pieces of bark. Serve immediately as part of a TV Snack or Carpet Picnic. Things can get messy when eating so make sure you have some kitchen roll on hand!

Yeo Valley makes a range especially for children and our yoghurt bark was a delicious and healthier alternative to an ice-cream. Little Yeos are made with British Organic milk, contain 100% natural ingredients and have no added sugar and I bet it's lovely and soothing and ideal for developing early healthy eating habits for teething toddlers too.

  7. What a great idea! We love Yeo Valley here. They are the only yogurts we buy. We try to buy organic food wherever we can, especially meat and dairy. We just love their products and collect their yeokens too! Lena has a little Yeo each day and Papa Ginge loves their strawberry and I eat the natural topped with flax seed and chopped fruit. I would never have though of doing this. It's a great idea. I bet Lena would love it.

  8. I love Little Yeos! I was surprised when my health visitor told me how full of sugar children's yoghurts are and I used to just by tubs of full fat yoghurt for my little weaning baby, but these are fab! Easy to pack for lunch on the go and I appreciate that the flavoured ones are made with a fruit puree. This is a great recipe that I think I'll try! X
