What's on in the North East for children & families | 3rd & 4th September

Goodbye August! You've been lovely. I honestly can't believe September is here already. I am really looking forward to autumn though - it's such a lovely time of year to get out and about before we hibernate for winter. I know some schools have gone back already but this weekend is our chance for one last summer fling before the kids go back on Tuesday. I plan on making the most of it. Here are 5 events to keep you busy in the North East this weekend:

Hadrian's Wall Live

Housesteads & Birdoswald
Sat 3rd & Sunday 4th September (various times)

Oh my goodness I am so excited for this. We are spending the full day and evening at Hadrian's Wall on Saturday and can't wait to join in with this spectacular event. There will be armies clashing, gladiators fighting, arm-to-arm combat, hands on activities for kids, a spectacular night patrol at Housesteads and a fabulous Barbarians Attack night battle at Birdoswald. Check out the Hadrian's Wall Live website for details, event timings and tickets.

Coquetfest
Druridge Bay Country Park

Expect beers, bands and beach at this year's Coquetfest. If pre-booked, adult camping for the weekend is only £25 (£30 on the gate) and children are just £5 (£7 on the gate). There is a huge line up of bands on stage alongside entertainment including a dog show and circus. Day tickets are also available at £10 or less and under 16's go free! More information here.
