What's on in the North East for Families & Kids - 2nd & 3rd July 2016

As always, there are lots of festivals and fun to be had across the North East this weekend. Fingers crossed for sunshine! Let me know what you're up to in our comments :D 


North East Chilli Festival
Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd July
Seaton Delaval Hall - £8 entry (on the door price)

Join the Chilli Fest for it's 5th birthday celebrations. As well as a huge selection of local & national food stalls you will find live music, chilli eating competitions, Chris Cross Magician and Escapologist & much more. More Information Here.



Ouseburn Festival 2016 ' Peter Rabbit Discovers Ouseburn'
Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd July
Ouseburn, Newcastle (free entry with some activities chargeable)

This popular family festival returns with live music, comedy, food market, stalls, arts and crafts, festival parade, pony rides, boat trips and more. More Information Here


Wallsend Festival
Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd July
Wallsend Town Centre (free entry with some activities chargeable)

Expect live music, fairground rides, craft tables and fun in Richardson Dee's Park at the annual Wallsend Town Festival. Look out for vintage cars, circus entertainers, climbing walls, stunt performers and lots more. Click here for official programme


Sunderland Shorts Film Festival
30th June - 3rd July
Various Prices - Under 12's screening on 2nd July is FREE

There are various screenings taking place across the weekend but the under 12's screening at Sunderland City Library at 2pm on 2nd July caught my eye. Tickets are FREE and families will be delighted with a series of short films including the Tooth Fairy and Lost Property. Book your FREE tickets here. 



South Shields Summer Parade
Saturday 2nd July 1-4pm 
Bents Park (Free)

Maritime Mayhem is the theme of this year's parade. Expect lots of pirates and sea creatures to fill the park along with stilt walkers, brass bands, puppeteers, dance troops and even a yellow submarine! More Information Here.
