Introducing the South Causey Inn Market | Beamish, County Durham

We are always keen to support local and independent businesses where possible and everyone knows that we love a good farm shop/market so I have been very excited to learn about the weekly market at South Causey Inn and can't wait to visit myself.

The South Causey Inn is a family friendly pub conveniently located near top family attractions Beamish and Tanfield Railway. Children's meals are priced at £5.95 and include a free slush drink which I know will please my three a great deal. There is a selection of farm animals on site and there is lots of outdoor space and picnic tables where children can play about. Basically, it's a perfect pub for families! They even won 'Best Family Pub' in the Great British Pub Awards 2013.

The South Causey Inn runs a weekly market from 10:30am - 2pm every Tuesday (12noon-2pm 21st June). There are lots of goodies to be found with a variety of food stalls such as fresh fruit and vegetables, locally sourced meat, specialty cheeses, gourmet pies, as well as a variety of craft stalls and stalls selling vintage items and antiques. Sounds perfect for us and we'll definitely be paying them a visit this summer.

Markets are held outdoors when the weather is fine, but are otherwise held in the Durham Suite. After a browse of the market you can treat yourself to afternoon tea in the bar/snug area , or simply pop in for a coffee. There is also a full a la carte menu is also available in the restaurant if you would prefer to stop by for lunch - perfect for refuelling after a spending spree.

Oh and I left my favourite part for last, the South Causey Inn has their own resident bulldog Mr Rip - isn't he adorable!!! I can't wait to meet him.

Steve and I will be staying at the South Causey Inn this week in one of their very unique bedrooms but there'll be more about that next month. If you'd like an early preview make sure you are following me on Snapchat (NEFAMILYFUN) and I'll post some pics from our stay.

Let me know if you've been to the South Causey Inn or plan to visit their market. I would love some recommendations on what to order for dinner.
