Fingers crossed for sunshine this weekend everyone! Why not join our North East Family Fun Community where you will find even more ideas and inspiration for days out or can ask the community for advice.

Here are 5 places to take the kids if you're looking for something to do:-


Tynemouth Food Festival
Tynemouth Priory - Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th May

  • Expect children's entertainment, face painting, music, food stalls, chef demos, street food and food stalls
  • £3.50 per adult (under 16's go free)

Hauxley Open Weekend
Hauxley Nature Reserve near Amble - Sunday 8th May
  • An opportunity for the public to take a look around the nature reserve and check out the progress of the new visitor centre plus tours of the new buildings.

Newcastle Vegan Festival
Newcastle Assembly Rooms - Saturday 7th May
  • Expect stalls, speakers, workshops, screenings and hands on activities. You don't need to be Vegan or Vegetarian to attend
  • Adults £2, Children £1

Ice Queen and Princess Tea Party
Kirkley Hall - Sunday 8th May
  • Join Princess Elsa and Ana for magical story telling, sing-a-longs and games
  • Children £10 inc one free adult (£5 for additional adults)

Souter Seashore Safari
Souter Lighthouse and the Leas - Sunday 8th May
  • Discover sea creatures and learn how to identify your winkles from your whelks. Wear sensible footwear. Nets are provided but feel free to bring your own
