Heidi turns 7 next week and is growing up to be a beautiful young lady inside and out. She has ALWAYS loved her clothes and shopping and is definitely developing her own opinions about what she would like to wear.

Heidi is a very girly girl but also very active at the same time. She will be the first to climb up a tree or challenge her brothers to a running race so the clothing I buy her needs to reflect this. We were recently invited along to intu Eldon Square to pick out a few outfits for spring/summer which was perfectly timed for us as Heidi needed to update her wardrobe for our upcoming holiday to Spain (8 weeks and counting). We started with a trip to the Style Garden where we could learn about key trends for the season.
There are lots of options for children's wear in intu Eldon Square including Debenhams (which was my favourite shop for the boys - I'll be writing a post featuring their picks soon), River Island, John Lewis, Fenwick, M&S and Next.
An outfit for days spent in the beer garden
Call me a bad parent if you like but one of my favourite things about summer is being able to spend a few hours in a beer garden in the sun. Nothing beats it and having a family shouldn't stop us from doing this (check out our top family beer garden recommendations). For these days we have picked something practical so Heidi can play but also stylish. We LOVE this t-shirt from M&S and it is lovely quality.

An outfit for spring days out
Dungarees | John Lewis T-Shirt | Next Hat | John Lewis
The weather this spring has been weird this year - from sunshine to hail we've experienced it all! These dungarees are perfect to see Heidi through spring to summer as they can just as easily be teamed with tights and boots as sandals or plimsoles. We could even put a long-sleeved t-shirt underneath in autumn. Such a versatile outfit!
An outfit for days spent travelling
Trousers | M&S T-Shirt | M&S Sun Hat | John Lewis Plimsoles | River Island
We travel A LOT in the summer months and the kids do spend hours in cars/on aeroplanes or boats. It's very important that they wear something practical, light and comfortable and this outfit really fits the bill. I love it so much! I'm going to team it with a cardigan and Heidi is going to wear it when we travel to Spain. I love the bright colours too.
An outfit for summer nights out
Heidi loves to dress up for special meals out and we have a few birthday meals out planned over summer. I adore this outfit from River Island which Heidi completely selected herself. It brings in the Pink Soda trend and I think teaming it with plimsoles really gives it a trendy edge.

An outfit for adventures
We LOVE an adventure and have lots of trips and festivals planned this year. This all-in-one jumpsuit is super easy to wear and looks fabulous too. It's Heidi's favourite outfit out of everything we picked and I suspect it will be getting a lot of wear this summer. The good thing about jumpsuits is that they are cost-effective too and a cheaper alternative than buying 2 separates. Heidi has already worn this twice and I can confirm that it's super easy to wash with no need to iron (winning!!) . There aren't many jumpsuits that cover the shoulder area like this one does which is something I am conscious of when Heidi's out in the sunshine.

Heidi's all set for summer now. We just need to pick her new swimsuit and then we're done. What do you think? Which is your favourite outfit?
