Holiday swimwear options for girls with fair skin

Following on from my post last month featuring swimwear options for myself (I went for Curvy Kate by the way), I am now looking at options for little miss to wear on our upcoming holiday to Spain. Heidi is a redhead and has pale skin and I know this puts her at greater risk of skin cancer. Therefore when I shop for swimwear I am always looking for as much cover and protection as possible. She is also the most stylish member of our family so whatever I end up buying has to look good.

Platypus Australia Girls UPF Sun Jacket
First up, I've been browsing the girls swimwear selection from House of Fraser and think this Platypus Australia Girls UPF Sun Jacket is a real bargain (currently reduced to just £12.98). This top blocks out 97.5% of the sun's harmful rays and will be perfect for playing in the pool.

2 piece swim suit from Fat Face
Next is this 2 piece set by Fat Face from John Lewis. Costing just £16,  I like how it has a high neck and covers the shoulders which are often the places that get burnt whilst wearing a traditional swimsuit.

Dinosaur rash vest from Boden

Heidi isn't always the girliest of girls and loves to play dinosaurs with her brothers. I know she would LOVE this rash vest from Boden (£14.85)

Playshoes Girls UV suit

Finally, I can definitely see Heidi in this Playshoes Girl's UV suit from amazon, although at £21.49, it is a touch more expensive than the other options.

Poolside Accessories

Of course, it's not just swimwear I need to consider for Heidi, I just know I won't be able to resist these poolside accessories too (well.....budget pending!):-

Beachside cover up from Joules

Little Mix Beach Towel

Flamingo Sunglasses

Little Mermaid Swim Bag

What do you think? Where do you shop for swimwear with high protection?

swimwear options for girls with fair skin

  1. Even now despite not being quite as pale as a natural redhead I always choose to cover my shoulders as they're such a sensitive place x

  2. There's so much cute UV protective swimwear around, I think, and it makes life SO much easier not to have to put suncream on all over ever five minutes when it's hot. I do love the Sunuva range, although it's not the cheapest, and we have some Seafolly swimwear as well. With our trip to Asia coming up, I know it's going to be incredibly hot so I'm actually thinking of getting some more rash vests to be worn as tops to keep her protected, as they're lovely and lightweight, easy to wash and will cover quite a lot of her. Am off to check out that Platypus one!

  3. Oh I love these swimwear options - my youngest daughter, who is now 16 is blonde and has incredibly pale delicate skin. Even now it is a constant worry to keep her completely protected. Kaz x

  4. oh some great choices and designs here I will have to be buying our soon so will take a look

  5. Lovely choices you have here. Cute pieces, making me want to shop.

  6. She looks ready for youe holiday! I love the cover up!

  7. I've never heard of a sun jacket before, looks great.

  8. These are fab and such a good post idea, my niece is so blonde and fait skinned they would be perfect for holiday for her x

I always love reading your thoughts and comments - Sam x
