Martineau Guest House wins Gold at the North East Travel Awards

Tynemouth is one of my favourite places in the North East. In the heart of the village sits Martineau Guest house which is a little hidden gem on Front Street. The Guest house has won a string of awards and accolades including winning the tripadvisor certificate of excellence in 2013. Martineau is also Michellin recommended, has been awarded 4 star silver by Visit England and produces award winning breakfasts. They have gone from strength to strength and this week were awarded a Gold award for Bed and Breakfast of the year in the North East Tourism awards. What an achievement!

Martineau Guest house is a deluxe, family run bed and breakfast and Sally and her team work really hard to go the extra mile and make sure your stay is unforgettable. Don't just take my word for it though, check out the rave reviews on tripadvisor.

There are four luxury en-suite bedrooms to choose from with views of the Priory, Village or Sea and all feature complimentary toiletries, free wifi and a well stocked tea tray. Prices start at just £75 per night including breakfast (You can book online here)

Breakfast is award winning and locally sourced including Craster kippers, homemade organic bread and even their very own Martineau sausage which has been created by a local Northumbrian butcher.

I have chosen to stay at Martineau Guest house for my birthday next month and really cannot wait. Congratulations again on your award Martineau, look out for a full review next month.
