Shop local this Christmas with Handmade by Laura

I am a huge advocate of shopping locally and I am delighted to be reviewing some lovely gift ideas from Handmade by Laura. Laura makes a variety of fantastic gifts from her home in Darlington at very reasonable prices. I was immediately drawn to her word art and think this would make a lovely personalised Christmas gift for somebody special. They are priced at only £6 + p&p for an A4 print or £15 framed (collection or local delivery only). Check out her facebook page for a selection of designs, I particularly love the family tree shaped designs which feature the names of everybody in your family. I think this would make a wonderful gift for a grandparent.

Personalised Word Art

As I am a huge fan of the North East, I decided to send Laura a list of North East place names that were special to us. In a few days I was sent various design options via email to choose from (it was so hard to choose) and once finalised my print arrived in a few days. Here is the finished product, I LOVE it and cannot believe this print would only cost £6 unframed. The quality of the print and paper is very high and not something I could make at home.

Minecraft and Frozen Gifts

I know Frozen and Minecraft gifts are popular this year and I think a piece of word art made with 'frozen' words in the shape of a snowflake or 'minceraft' words in the shape of a cube would make a lovely gift for children too. You can pick any words, any colour and any theme so the piece will be truly personal. Laura will always send you a proof via email and not go ahead until you are both completely happy. As I keep saying, £6 for an unframed print of this sort is or £15 framed is AMAZING value.

Christmas treats hand delivered by an elf

If you live in the Darlington area, Laura and her helpers will be dressing as elves this Christmas to deliver special handmade goody bags to lucky children this year.

Each bag has been handcrafted and contains lots of lovely touches such as a festive wooden spoon, a knitted fairy or elf, Christmas bookmarks, fairy dust and more. These will cost £15 delivered which is a bargain considering how much work and love must go into each bag. They are still in the process of being put together so keep an eye on Laura's facebook page to see photograph's of the final design soon. Make sure you book your delivery slot early as they are sure to sell out. Here are some sneaky preview pictures:-

How cute is this wooden spoon!

Movie Night Box for the man in your life

I could not resist adding this photograph of a movie night hamper that Laura makes. Priced at only £15 they are something a bit different and something that will raise a smile from the man in your life this Christmas.

Thanks Laura for our beautiful word art, it will have pride of place on our wall in years to come and I'm sure it will be a talking point. Laura is lovely to deal with and you can see she really cares about her business, providing first class service and making sure the customer is happy. Her idea's are creative and unique and I look forward to seeing what she will create next.
