Half way through the holidays!

I really cannot believe we are already half way through the Summer holidays! It is going way too fast for my liking! We have been blessed with mostly good weather and have already had lots of fun. I thought I'd share a half way catch up.

We started the Summer holidays in style with the most amazing family Sunday lunch at Jesmond Dene House and a walk through Jesmond Dene to Pets Corner. We were then up early the next day for the long drive to Henley On Thames where we stayed at The Paddock which was the most beautiful home from home complete with it's own outdoor cinema!

Using Henley as our base, we visited Paulton's Park (home of PeppaPig land) and Drayton Manor (home of Thomasland) - look out for blog post's soon!

Then it was back home and straight to the new Giraffe restaurant in Kingston Park to sample their family dining and I finished a jam-packed week by going to see Grease with the girls at the Theatre Royal.

In the second week we stayed at our in law's caravan at Cresswell and had lots of traditional caravan holiday fun on the arcades, at the club house and in the park. We used this as a base to visit Corbridge where we completed a murder mystery trail around the town and then finished our day strawberry picking at Brockbushes.

We enjoyed a fantastic picnic at Warkworth Castle and took part in their Soldiers of the Roses event that was taking place that day and had a lovely trip to the stunning Druridge Bay beach for the afternoon where we built sandcastles and paddled in the sea and ended our day with some perfect fish n chips at Amble harbour.

We also paid Woodhorn a visit on a rainy day to see the dinosaur exhibition - it filled an hour or so!

In our third week the sun was shining again and we spent a lovely afternoon at Carlisle Park in Morpeth where the children loved playing in the pool and we spent a full day at Cragside near Rothbury. The house and grounds of Cragside are absolutely stunning and definitely worth a visit.

Tonight, we are going to my brother's to celebrate various family birthdays with a Mexican party!

What have you been up to in the holiday's? Where should we go next?
