Linwood's Health Foods

It's January and like most of the population, our household really indulged over Christmas. We are making a conscious effort to try and stay healthy this January (and beyond). So when Linwood's Health Foods asked us if we wanted to sample some of their health foods, it was something I definitively wanted to get involved with.

The health benefits of adding seeds to your everyday diet are just amazing and speak for themselves. Here are just some of the benefits you can enjoy by incorporating Linwood's into your daily meals and snacks:-

*Omega 3,6 and 9 for healthy heart and brain.
*Dietary fibre to help maintain cholesterol and blood sugars
*Antioxidants to maintain cell integrity
*Weight management as they have a low GI to keep you fuller for longer
*Iron to support your immune system
*Vitamin E to help boost your immune system
*Protein for growth of muscles, skin and bone
*Magnesium to support healthy bones, muscles and nerves.
*Selenium to support the immune system
*B vitamins to maintain a healthy metabolism
*Co-Enzyme Q10 to improve the way the body functions
*Cocoa helps maintain a healthy heart and circulation throughout the body.

Wow! What a list! The health benefits are just amazing!

We were sent a lovely recipe book with lots of lovely ideas containing the seeds, however as I meal plan 5 weeks in advance, we haven't had a chance to try a recipe yet (but we will - so look out for a recipe next month).

We have however added a handful of seeds to pretty much every meal we've enjoyed. I call this health by stealth! Nobody noticed the seeds had been added yet they gained the benefits listed above. We added a spoonful of flaxseed to our roast chicken before cooking, two spoonfuls of shelled hemp to our lamb pie sprinkled flaxseed, cocoa and berries on our morning cereal and added a couple of teaspoons of various seeds to our lunchtime salad.

We will definitely continue to use Linwood's seeds in our everyday cooking, especially our cereals and salads. You can buy Linwood's seeds from major supermarkets and health food shops. There are lots of varieties to choose from.

If you would like to learn more about Linwood's check out their website www.linwoods.co.uk

We were sent sample packs of Linwood's seeds for the purpose of this review. All thoughts are our own.
